Roberto VAGLIO - Piedmont Region Mountain Politics Councillor

In 2004 Piedmont Region will host, for the second time, the World Mountain Running Trophy: an international sport event, a real important occasion to promote our territory.

The Piedmont Region, which has supported the candidate city Sauze d'Oulx, is very pleased to host this event and to welcome the athletes and all supporters, who are following this sport in the mountains, which are preparing for the great challenge of 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
The Susa Valley is the ideal place where this competition can be done: the Olympic Mountains can propose an high quality tourist offer; have adequate incoming structures and they are easily reachable.

The Mountain Running is a very hard and spectacular sport speciality, which has won the public interest during the last years, in fact the last two editions of Olympic Mountain Gran Prix have been a great success and took place exactly in Sauze d'Oulx.

For this reason the Piedmont Region, Sauze d'Oulx and the organizers are working hard so that the 20th edition of the World Mountain Running Trophy will meet, with its high technical and spectacular contents, all athletes and supporters requirements.

The Piedmont Region and I guess that this event will have a great success and that all athletes and people, who are coming here, will have the possibility to appreciate landscapes, natural wonders, culture and tradition of Piedmont, a mountain territory.
