Maria Evelina BERTERO - Mountain Community Alta Valle Susa President

After several years the Alta Valle Susa mountain is again the protagonist of this important event and the C.M.A.V.S. is very pleased to welcome it.

Since the Eighties, together with Mountain Community Alta Valle Susa Sporting Group, we are working hard in order to promote in our territory the "mountain running culture". Four editions of the Italian Championship, organized in Chiomonte, one World Trophy organized by the town of Chiomonte together with Susa and Bardonecchia, have seen several athletes engaged in those events in our mountains.

If the Italian Athletics, after the II World War, was still an heroic and poor discipline, with few followers, today it is a fondly challenge and this "XX WORLD MOUNTAIN RUNNING TROPHY 2004" is a concrete and constructive occasion to approach young people to sports and sport ideals as a positive value for life.
This trophy makes this speciality a rich event, a challenge between man against himself, in order to break any record.

However, you can also go up to the mountain to spend a pleasant day in the nature, surrounded by wonderful and evocative landscapes, an actual view of ancient working places of our ancestors.
