Roberto FAURE - Sauze d'Oulx Mayor

With great proud and pleasure Sauze d'Oulx will host, after four years of responsibility, the "top" event of mountain running, the XX World Mountain Running Trophy 2004, receiving the baton from a country which is thousands of kilometres far from here, from Alaska a "myth" for us!

We are extremely pleased that, without any clamour, thanks to our faithfulness which is typical of the mountain people, we have reached in a really short time the top of the world mountain running events.

Sauze d'Oulx is not only "skiing", is not only "winter tourism"; in order to diversify its tourist offer, Sauze d'Oulx is introducing itself world-wide with this charming, hard and "pure" speciality also because it recalls the history of our ancestors, who, with their hard work and constancy, have wrung from the mountain the necessary to survive.

A great welcome to everybody (athletes, organizers, supporters and tourists) who will honour us with their presence.
